Land on Mont Blanc paragliding tandem

The day of Wednesday, June 26, 2019 will remain a very good memory for a good number of pilot paragliding solo and paragliding tandem.

Indeed thanks to the severe heat wave that rages in this end of June 2019 almost everywhere in Europe, about 150 drivers have felt the day come to try a landing at the top of Mont Blanc in Haute-Savoie which rises to 4810m.

This summit, so popular with mountaineers from all over the world, has attracted many paragliders since the first landing in August 2003 of a few pilots, most of them coming from Annecy, the European capital of paragliding and one of the most beautiful take-offs for paragliding flights tandem.

A heat wave usually allows to climb in ascents with maximum heights of very high temperatures called the ceiling. By combining high ceilings and a very very low wind, records of distance can be made so magical flights such as flying in the Mont Blanc massif authorized only outside July-August because of the numerous passages of rescue helicopters .

Thus on this Wednesday, July 26, 2019, a good number of solo pilot and tandem pilot gave themselves appointment in Chamonix, took off from Planpraz at an altitude of 2000m. The generous thermal and rather easy to exploit allowed to rise largely above the summit at nearly 5600m altitude. It was then that more than 150 pilots, including two-seater paragliders, were able to land on the roof of Europe in already soft snow due to exceptionally mild temperatures at that altitude that week. The redeck took place not without difficulty for some of them due to the management of the altitude.

Two pilots from Airmax Parapente, Ludo and Vincent were able to pose, one of them in tandem paragliding with his companion Caroline.
A memory engraved forever for the pilots present that day and for those for whom this flight represented a dream for a very long time.
